Private Living on the Public Radio

Georgia LA of Roundhouse Radio interviewed me and Bryn about our guerrilla gigging habit. The results have just been posted online. Interview starts at the 7:57 mark and lasts about 3 minutes.

Blasfemia's Photos

I was greeted by a heat wave upon arrival back in London, which makes leaving Barcelona SLIGHTLY more bearable. The exhibition was a success and I love every person who was in the show. Actually, it felt a lot like Art Summer Camp...a bunch of kids sleeping in bunk beds and making things. Wonderful. These are some photos from those four days.

The Start of my Working Holiday

I am in Barcelona setting up for the exhibition I am in. The private view is on Friday and it is going to be super fun. There will be paintings, sculpture, video, performance, installation....so ya, basically everything. Oh ya, and the drinks are free and there will be DJ's spinning till the wee hours....and then we hit the beach! The show is called Blasphemia's and it runs from May 21-24 at c/pamplona 56-58, 08005 Barcelona. If you are around, come!

Also, Look what I saw on the street

Ya. So I have no idea why a deer's entire leg is sticking out of a garbage bag on the streets of Barcelona... but it's creepy and weird and funny all at the same time. I like it here.

Shadow of my Heart

To further my obsession with my mother, here are the first three parts of an amazingly bad and amazingly awesome movie she was in called Shadow of the Hawk. She is the hot blond babe by the pool in part 1, and she is in the party scene at the end of part 2 and beginning of part 3. After that she isn't in the movie, so I never bother watching parts 4-10. But don't let me stop you from doing so. And just in case anyone reading this lives in Vancouver, she is currently acting in a play at the Arts Club until June 6. Check it!

Who wants to stalk Pia Shandel?

Some people will do ANYTHING to catch Pia Shandel. And I am pretty sure I know why. Cuz she's awesome!

I love my mum.

Private Lives at Punk!

We played a (legal) gig at Punk last Thursday, and here are some photos from the night. The show was super fun, and our friend David Walsh filmed a lot of footage, so hopefully soon there will be a film too! I heart to sing. xxx

Gig and Arrest in Primark

Here it is. The story of the arrest of Private Lives and friends! Features clips of a few of our songs and interviews with the band members. Jolly good fun.

I hate teenagers too, Clem.

Cool Dude Clem is full of hate. There is nothing he hates more in the world besides teenagers, and the ones next door are the very worst. Today he gives them a taste of their own medicine! Enjoy.

Arrested!

Last Saturday, my band Private Lives attempted to perform a guerrilla gig in the flagship Primark store on Oxford Street. Things did not go according to plan. The store was swarming with police. They knew exactly who we were and when and were we were planning to perform. They even knew all of our names. It's sounds crazy and paranoid, but the police had been spying on us. NEVER TRUST FACEBOOK! So instead of going ahead with our Sweatshop Disco and reclaiming public space in a frenzy of music and dancing and fun....everyone in the band and most of our friends were arrested.

These are some camera phone pictures that our friend Alex managed to take as Bryn and I were being placed in the back of a police car. Absolute Madness!

In truth, it seems that the police were some of our biggest fans. They had seen the videos from our previous guerrilla gigs in tesco and on the DLR and they were extremely interested in the philosophy behind doing these shows. We invited them to our show at Punk tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath.

If you are sad because you never came to any of our illegal gigs, you can now see us play LEGAL shows around London and Europe! Punk tomorrow, doors at 9. See us in Berlin later in the spring. What fun.
