My Mummy used to be on TV. Check out these amazing old print ads from her time of employment at CKVU in Vancouver. What a babe, eh?

I love my Mom.

Witchy Woman

Last week, my friend Ed had a Roald Dahl themed house party. I went as the Grand High Witch. Larry went as Matilda's Dad. Can't you tell from the hat he is wearing?

The lovely ladies Rosie and Charlotte were also in attendance. This pleased Ed greatly.

Shortly after receiving this kiss, Ed climbed up on the kitchen counter with glee....and promptly fell off. Lord love him. Can't tell you what character he is meant to be....I think he might just really like wearing a dress...and eyeliner.

Weird night...very weird night. I just love me a costume party.

The Graveyard

I love the Abney Park Cemetery in Stoke Newington. In fact, the love I feel may be bordering on obsession. The other week on Guy Fawkes Day, a friend and I broke in to the abandoned chapel, whereupon we made a rather large bonfire which I then filmed on a 16 mm camera. Besides the mess of ash, we also left behind an empty wine bottle, a full water bottle, and various exploded fireworks and lighters. I returned to the church a few days later to film some more, only to discover a message left for us. Someone had typed the words "COME CLEAN" on thirteen pieces of paper, which they then displayed with various rocks and debris, including the bottles and lighters we had left behind. Spooky, eh?

Ouch

A few weeks ago, I got my second tattoo (my first non-homemade one). This is the first photo I took of it, looking all fresh and bloody. In case you can't tell, it's an ice cream cone on my inner left wrist. This may seem completely random, but if you know anything about the art I have been making in recent months, you will know that it is EXTREMELY relevant.

What they say about tattoos being addictive is totally true. I already want another one...I am making some videos about horses, so I was thinking something equine-related. A horseshoe?

I like getting tattoos based on projects I have done. It is nice to think that even if I get sick of it, at least I will have an entire body of work to back up the work on my body.

p.s. Here is my forearm, freshly inked in my bedroom by Oscar Hazell. HSS...stands for Harvey Stevenson Southam.

So Glad you Made it

The night before Erin left, we had a little party for her. Isn't that sweet?

FYI, the cake from Tesco was seriously amazing. Just saying.

Pumpkin Head!

Halloween is fun. However, my friends are more fun. Therefore, Halloween + Friends = Superfun.

On a sad note, this was Erin's last weekend. Now she is back in Canada and it makes me melancholy. I really lost a friend, ally and confidante when she went back home, and London just ain't the same. Sigh. At least I have the memories. And the photos. And the doll replica she made of me for my birthday. What a special lady.

Oh Ed.

Pure Love

So, who likes halloween?

Old Blue Last, Warehouse party in Manor House and then Larry's for fun and fighting. It was a super fun night and it was Erin's last weekend in London! My fist hurts from punching Ed in the face, but he definitely deserved it. Ed is the crazy person on the bike. Don't you want to punch him too? Ha! Loves it. More pictures to come.

Magicanimals

I live by Victoria Park in London. The other day I was walking home from a friends and we came across a man who was feeding fish to a pack of huge and beautiful foxes. Apparently he works in a fish shop and comes to feed the foxes leftovers every night. Yummers.

No matter how many times I see these animals, it always feels like magic. They are soooo much better than raccoons.
