I miss my Sisters

A few days ago, I went to the White Cube to see the Candice Breitz exhibition entitled Factum. Click the link to read about it, so that I don't need to paraphrase....

The show was pretty fascinating, albeit too lengthy to watch every piece in it's entirety. What struck me was the twins parallel desires to remain connected to their twin, while at the same time asserting their differences and individuality. The thought of having a twin sounds incredibly appealing, yet wholly terrifying....to me at least.

It made me think of my cousin Vanessa, who lost her twin in a car accident when they were 19. I can't imagine the pain of losing someone that you are so intimately connected to that you even share the same genetic code. It must be like losing am irreplaceable part of your self, of your identity. How do you feel like yourself after losing that person? How would it change you?

On a side note, the piece was shot in Toronto. Not only that, but one of the twins is actually dating a friend of mine. Canada really is the smallest place ever.

Go see the show.

3 Helmets

I miss painting. I think I will make some paintings like I was a year ago. Too much sitting on my laptop is making me go mad.

Tesco Tech!

Last night my band Private Lives played an illegal show in a tesco in Dalston. Check it.

One of these days, I promise we will play a show that lasts more than 30 seconds. But in the meantime, isn't this kind of awesome?

DLR Disco

My Band Private Lives every so often will do illegal shows in public places. We are doing one this coming saturday, although I won't say when or where. Just trust me when I say it will be mind-blowingly awesome. Here is some footage from the show we played on the DLR just over a month ago, shot by my friend Uli.

I didn't even go to this show...

Souls of Mischief are coming to London and I am going to see them with my wicked new friend Mel! I heart life.

Serena Jean

Let me take this opportunity to talk about my talented and beautiful sister Serena. She is a musician and she lives in New York and she is extremely cool. Her band is called Serena Jean and the Whiskey Trippers and you can check out the music here. She also has a youtube channel. Isn't the internet wicked?

Very shortly, Serena will be releasing her debut album called Town and Country. I have a feeling it is going to be amazing. And I am usually right about these things.

On a more personal notes, a few days ago it was her two year anniversary of sobriety, and I couldn't be prouder. What a wonderful woman my sister is. I love her, and so will you.

Lame?

TWITTER. I CAVED.

Anyways, you should all follow me. Thanks.
